Penguin Release

After an oil spill, people from New Zealand rescued many little penguins. They brought them back to New Zealand and nursed them back to health for several months. Just this week, they packed them up into little, animal safe boxes and took them to the beach. With all the boxes lined up, they opened them simotaniously. The forty penguin survivors waddled at once into the water. The video is much cuter then this description. Try looking the video up!

Pajama Day Confirmed!

The Pajama Day I wrote about earlier has been confirmed! It will be held December 9th along with hot lunch. This event will be added the Calendar.

Annoymous Help Suggestion Page

I am thinking of making an annoymous help suggestion page. This is where, if you want help with anything, you can email me and a person of my choice (not me) will give you an answer to your help question. Use a random nickname that has something to do with your question so no one will know who you are. I want to know if you want this to be a part of The News Fox. I will set up the page and only a few selected questions will be posted. The "answer person" will email me and I will post it. You can comment if you want this section to exist or email me a question and I will take that as a yes. Thanks for you support!

Grade 7 Hoodies

On Tuesday of last week, grade 7 hoodies arrived. In the front lobby, right next to the PAC board, there is the desgin of the hoodies. You may have noticed that the design pinned up and the design on the actual hoodies are different. If you want to check this out, you will find most of the grade 7's hanging around the swings at recess and lunch at the playground furthest from the staff parking lot. Anyway, Mrs. Schmit came in to grade 7 classes and announced that the company made a mistake. It turns out that we have a hoodie design in "storage" so they automactically printed a Langley Meadows custom made design. That's the truth Ruth (that's a pretty old saying).

Report Cards

End of term is coming and that usually means we get our graded report cards. This year, because of job action (strike), we don't get any grades. We do get report cards, but they only have our behaviours, suggestions, comments, etc. These report cards, like all others, come at end of term. Though, end of term is not the last day before Christmas Holidays. It actually is at the end of November, so you can expect those weird, new report cards soon.

Langley Star

A thirteen year old boy named Cole Armour appeared on Ellen not too long ago. Ellen was astounded at his voice; he sounded like a professional performer who's been singing for years. Cole Armour is now on his way to big time fame. From Youtube hit to Langley star, Cole is probably on his way to Canadian sensation or possibly even bigger! His passion has carried him to singing many types of music. Cole's parents said on Breakfast Television sometime this week, that whatever song they threw at Cole to sing, he could do it perfectly. He said that performing on stage with everyone watching is the greatest feeling in the world. Young Armour isn't doing this all for himself, though, he is caring, sweet, and has a great personality. Cole even has a website about charity. Please visit

Look out for more news on the Langley Singing Star, Cole Armour!

Have You Wondered.....?

Have you wondered why it has been getting so cold outside lately? I mean, it's only November! The fact is that, this year, its supposed to be the coldest in twenty years. At this point, you might be bummed about the freezing air that will stay from now until late February or early March. Just think of it this way: snow will most likely come earlier this year! Though if you don't like snow at all, I have nothing to make you feel better. Sorry, but the frostbite time is coming!

The Grade 7 Play

You might know that in Grade 7, you get to choose between band or music, drama, and art. Some of the music students are saying that the play for this year is Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat. They have also been saying that band students aren't going to be able to be in the play because they have already started rehearsing and all the lines are singing. I find that disappointing, being a band student and all. Anyway, the Grade 7's will continue to practise on Mondays and Tuesdays. Hopefully band students will get some chance to be in it, too.

Pajama Day

I'm so happy that we have earned Pajama Day (I like wearing my PJ's all day)! If you're wondering how in the world did we earn that. Well, our school reached our sales quota (goal) for entertainment books. This awesome day will be held in early december so you might want to wear a housecoat or warm PJ's.
Happy PJ-ing! Even though that's not a word!

Book Fair Review

This year, the book fair was bigger. It spread over a little more than half the library. It was great! If you like suspense, then buy "The Limit". I read a page of it and it lives up to its suspenseful reputation. "Banana Grams" is the book you need to get if you like games, and if you like diary books, then try reading "Dork Diaries"! The posters were adorable or cool! Depends on which poster it is. Also available are school supplies. Not just your ordinary ones, though. They were tricked out and awesome! There were "paw pointers", dog sharpeners, guitar sharpeners/erasers, phone erasers, and the best bookmarks I have ever seen! You can pick up a cute little book for a cute little person, too! If you want to check it out, you still have time. It closes tomorrow at 3:30 after school. You might be busy after school, though, so bring your money to school and check it out at lunch!

Last Day

Today (Wednesday) was Mrs. Taylor's last day at Langley Meadows Community School. I hope you all said your good-byes because you'll never get the chance to do it again. Once again, good-bye Mrs. Taylor!
